Hut trekking in Julian Alpssbhamilton: nedelja, 12. junij 2005, ob 14.40 uri; ogledov: 0 Hello,
We are a family of five, children ages 11,11,14, from Colorado USA wanting to do a three to five day trek in the Julian Alps, staying at a mountain hut each night. Dates are 16 July to 20 July, 2005. We know how to hike in the mountains (from Colorado), and can travel perhaps 10 kilometers/day, with an elevation gain of 700 meters/day, or about five hours travel time. Can you recommend a route, and can it be done without a guide?
One route that I have seen begins at Vogel (with a cable car?), staying at huts Komni, Prehordavci, Kredarici and Vodnikoc. Is this a poor idea, expecially with children?
Any help would be appreciated. My email address is sbhamilton@pobox.com
Thank you in advance,
Scott Hamilton |
